ANOTHER BABY!!!

2012 was a year of announcements, announcements, and MORE announcements :)  That's right, 3 of our ladies had baby news.  ANOTHER baby. For one, it was her 2nd baby; for another, it was her 3rd; and for another, it was her 4th. 3 new baby boys to welcome into the world.  While they all have had big baby showers in the past, we believe that EVERY child deserves to be showered :).  I have planned so many parties for the same group of people so the biggest challenge was thinking of something NEW, something DIFFERENT, something that we haven't seen at any other baby shower.  Whether it be the color scheme, the theme, the invite.... anything to make their shower memorable.  Here are the pics from the 3 showers.
For this Baby Shower, we chose to do a yellow and gray colored shower.  We added letters to make it an alphabet theme.  I hung letters in yellow and gray from the ceiling with regular balloon ribbon.  We made tissue paper pom poms to hang from the ceiling and for the wall.  The souvenir was also the cake.  They were Mason jars filled with yellow cake and gray frosting (ordered from SaveABite@blogspot.com).  The utensils and napkins were placed in a cardboard crib that was covered in card stock.  We printed out Alphabet sheets and put them in white frames on the table and in a frame hanging on the wall for guests to sign.  This shower was a huge hit.  EVERYONE that walked in the house loved the color scheme, the souvenirs and how we used pom poms instead of balloons.

Then we had a small Dr. Seuss theme Baby Shower.  It was at the house and it was very small, but once again, guests left talking about the colors, the fish bowl, the unique souvenirs, and our pom poms :)

We had Pom Poms on the table and hanging on the ends of the door way.  We placed Pepperidge Farm Fish in a large fish bowl and put a fishing net in the bowl as a scooper.  For Souvenirs, we put Sweedish fish in small votive holders that looked like mini fish bowls. I put a yellow fish (to add color and keep with the "basic color" theme) that read "Thank You" in the souvenir as well.

Then there was the last Baby Shower for 2012.  There was no specific theme for this one so my friend went to Target and picked out an invite that she liked.  It happened to have colors that we normally didn't see for a Baby "BOY" Shower and it also had a few stripes and stars on it.  So, I decorated the Shower around the idea's that I got from the invite.  The colors were blue, orange and brown.

I made a banner with stars that read "It's a Boy".  I made plain Wilton souvenir boxes look like they were made as a set with the invite.  I wrapped strips of ribbon in the three colors (to give the box it's "stripes") and added a cut out "star" and stamped the boxes with the "Thank You".  I filled the boxes with mints; who doesn't like mints? They didn't plan on having a center pieces but changed their minds when they heard how affordable these would be.  Wrapped Up Empty Boxes dressed up with ribbon, bows, and star cut outs.  The hall looked beautiful and the Mom-2-Be was happy so this was ANOTHER successful party for betonBets.

Stay tuned for more Parties and Pics.....

A Portrait of the Guest of Honor,
Master Pilot Jacob Carter.

Guests couldn't stop talking about the Baggage Claim area.  This is were the children picked up their souvenirs.  Each gift bag had a personalized luggage tag on it with the child's name and a Logo Sticker on the back. (Same logo that was on the invite) A wooden suitcase, contained airplane shaped sugar cookies by Save A Bite

This party was a huge success.  Guests are still talking about the flight attendant (myself) who walked around with a cart, offering them refreshments right from the cart
(drinks, pretzels, peanuts, chips)

I even made ID badges with the airline logo that said staff and had a picture of the staff member.  My title was flight attendant; the birthday boy's parents were Airline Engineer and Co-Pilot. We had a ticket agent who collected the tickets at the door (which were used for a raffle).  There were lounge attendants who worked the bar area and bag handlers who helped give out the souvenirs.

Zion's 5th Birthday

After a batman party and a Marvel Superhero party, we pretty much covered most of my son's favorite characters.  Recently he turned 5 and he asked for a Batman Arkham City VILLAIN party. What is that, you ask?  Same thing the baker asked. So after my unsuccessful search for villain cake ideas, I had to draw something myself.  Along with drawing the cake, I had to create centerpieces and souvenirs to go with that theme since NO ONE sells villain party supplies.

 My sketch

 The Cake

I made a shirt for each child in the colors of the villains. Green for the Riddler and Poison Ivy; Black and White for Two Face, The Penguin, Bane and Catwoman; Purple for the Joker; and Red for Harley Quinn

The Centerpieces.  Each table represented a Villain. Along with a picture of the Villain, there was a brief bio on the character. Centerpieces where both a centerpiece and a quick read to entertain and educate guests.

Cake pops (made by Save A Bite) were mounted on a city sky line.  Banner in the background included 2 Batman Arkham City logos and 2 pictures of Bane, who my son wanted to dress up as.  Banners can be made in different sizes, shapes, colors and can be made in your choice of 4 different fonts.
